Activism

The struggle for equal rights for the LGBTQ community takes on many forms across the globe. For some of us, the issue is as advanced as marriage equality. For others, it is as basic as freedom from persecution.

The Kiss for Equality™️ campaign recognizes the revolutionary power of a kiss in this struggle for equality. The kiss exists in every culture. It symbolizes love and support and is a profound way of saying, "I am with you."

Sarah's Support for Equality

In 2013, Sarah founded the Kiss for Equality™️ campaign to raise awareness about the U.S. Supreme Court's hearings on marriage equality. The campaign grew to more than 50,000 followers, with members from more than forty countries. Today the campaign helps raise awareness about the fundamental importance of equality for the LGBTQ community not only in the United States but in the world.

Says Sarah, "We can't all be lawyers, lobbyists, politicians or plaintiffs in the fight for civil rights for the LGBTQ community, but we can still play a part in this historic moment. We can show our support for equality with our humanity. The very act that is often so challenging for same-sex couples is also a potentially powerful show of solidarity." The campaign invites all of us to share a "kiss for equality" with the world, share why equality is important to us, and spread our love for equal rights.
